Marvelous Monday: Week 32

Hello, Reader!

This week is marvelous because it began yesterday with a great friend's birthday. Ellie lives 1,400 miles away but I thought of her often yesterday and I hope she had a wonderful celebration. Wish and I hosted the St. Paul chapter of her birthday party!

Read on for five more marvelous tidbits:

1) It was absolutely gorgeous this morning for my run: deep blue skies after an orange sunrise, 60 degrees, super-saturated green grass and leaves. Ahh. My mega-favorite months of the year are in the fall, but there is something so intensely beautiful about August that it's kind of a dark horse for favorite month.

2) The books are flying fast and furious around Miles and Laurel. Per the conversation that came out of the young adult fiction post, I picked up The Outsiders and I Capture the Castle from the library late last week. Today I got messages that copies of Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail (by Cheryl Strayed) and Running the Rift by Naomi Benaron are ready for my Kindle. And I'm still working on Just My Type, too! I am not sure of the order in which I'll tackle these books, or how I'll be able to fit all five into the three-week loan period. (Maybe I'll have to do some of the reading outside - refer back to marvelous tidibit #1.)

3) I baked blondies over the weekend. I never know if people like the little-bit-burnt edges like I do, so I always leave them out when I share them with others...which means I'm left with a little package full of burnt edge pieces at home. Yum.

4) There are only so many Mondays that include Olympic Games competition, so I'm not afraid to be a little redundant and say again how much I love watching the Olympics.

5) Monster (you also know him as Wish) and I went for a long walk tonight and super quintessential summer scenes abounded (again, refer back to #1 - I'm sensing a theme). Before we got Wish, I used to think going for walks with a dog would be so much fun, and it's true. I love going for walks with my pup. Even when he gets mad at wood statues.
